1. Intro

Well, since Kim is still on her extended vacation, I thought I'd take up the commercial crusade and tell everyone about Apple's "Rip, Burn, Mix" ad. It's been on the air for awhile, so I'm sure many of you have seen it. Basically, it's a guy sitting in an empty theater, and the stage is filled with music superstars. He is dictating to each star what he wants on his own personalized CD. I read a short article on this ad that says that Apple actually got every single one of those stars to show up on the same day and stand on that stage together. They weren't edited together later. That's pretty durn cool. Even if you have seen this ad on TV, the extended version on the Apple web site is worth a look-see. Not only does it contain extra footage, but the editing is very different. Stars that are included, off the top of my head, are Li'l Kim, Smashmouth, Barry White, and George Clinton, along with many many more.

We have three new series premieres this week, including the much-talked about reality shows The Weakest Link and Chains of Love. For those of you that watch them, I'd love to hear what you think. Also, did anyone catch Special Unit 2 on UPN? If not, there's another new episode this week. I'd love to hear viewers' opinions on that as well.

I'm a little ashamed to admit it, but I did watch the return of Making the Band last Friday. The added drama of Erik's biological father getting in touch after nineteen years was great. The lousy performance at the Miss America Pageant balanced by the great A Cappella performance at the Teen People Awards was well done. But what was up with that crazy video debut? Why was it the quality of a Karaoke video? All it needed was the words to the song appearing at the bottom of the screen.

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend and didn't have to fight too much traffic. I was pleasantly surprised with my fast drive from Boston to New York. Happy Birthday, Bren!

2. The poll

Wow, so I should ask questions about WB shows more often, 'cause this week's poll had the highest turn-out yet. Surprisingly enough, Roswell took the cake as the favorite WB drama with over 24% of the vote, and Dawson's Creek and critically acclaimed Gilmore Girls tied for last place with slightly over 11% of the vote each. Filling in the middle was Buffy the Vampire Slayer, with about 19% of the vote, Charmed, with slightly over 18% of the vote, and Felicity, with almost 16% of the vote.

This week's poll is totally superficial. Which female star do you think is most striking looking? Check out your diverse options at this week's poll.

As always, the TKTV weekly poll can be found right on the front page of the site.

4. TV Trivia

Last week's question was: how many Vampire Slayers are there currently alive in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel universe?

First prize goes to Michaela M. Congratulations!

Honorable mentions go to Elizabeth S. and Tom K.

The correct answer was, of course, two, Buffy and Faith (who is in jail, but definitely still alive).

This week's question is: on what TV show did the woman who voices Pickles on "The Oblongs" co-star with Delta Burke, Annie Potts and Dixie Carter?

Send answers to TK at tk@tktv.net with the subject of tvtrivia. Winners will be chosen at random from all the correct answers.

5. Favorite quotes of the week

From Yes, Dear
Kim, after taking care of three kids for the day: Today was nothing but screaming, running around and confusion. It was like the first ten minutes of "Saving Private Ryan" with Goldfish crackers instead of bullets.

and

Jimmy: My kids can be a handful. We get people asking if we hit them, and when we say "no" they ask if they can.

From Once and Again
James: Our president gave us all a great lesson in that a couple years ago, didn't he? The dumbest thing you can ever do is lie to a grand jury.

From The West Wing
Ainsley, arguing why the ERA is bad: It's humiliating. A new ammendment we vote on declaring that I am equal under the law to a man. I am mortified to discover there is reason to believe I wasn't before. I am a citizen of this country, I am not a special subset in need of your protection. I do not have to have my rights handed down to me by a bunch of old white men. The same article fourteen that protects you protects me and I went to law school just to make sure.
