1. Intro
So, did you catch the Oscars last night? Every year I watch, and every year it gets just a little less interesting. Steve Martin was good, but sometimes it's better to have a lousy host because then it's more fun to yell at the television. I think my favorite part of the whole night was Bjork's swan-dress, although Jennifer Lopez's boob-dress was a close second (is she trying to get people to stop talking about her booty by making us look at her boobs on live television? Did you notice that ABC did her close-up shot from the neck up?).
My biggest frustration is that there were no surprises all night. Gladiator won best picture. Whoop dee doo. Yeah, it was a good movie, and I enjoyed it, but it was just so predictable that it was going to win.
That's about it for me this week. It's spring and it's snowing in New York. The crocuses are confused. Check out the Don't miss section for lots of new premieres including such stars as Joan Cusack and Damon Wayans.

2. Letters from the viewing audience
From Lucylover1986:
You seem to forget that the shows like "Malcolm in The Middle" don't have a live audience for the filming of an episode. That is why you can see different parts of the house. Shows like "Friends" can't compete with that because they have a live audience and moving the camera to capture a different angle would not work out too well. The only way would be to have a completely opposite set available. And there is no way the company would pay for that!
Letters from the viewing audience are always welcome. Please email any opinions, questions, comments, or random thoughts to TK at tk@tktv.net with the subject of "letters." Letters may be edited for length or content.

3. The poll
The poll is getting more popular week by week. This week we quizzed everyone on what their favorite law-related TV show is. "Ally McBeal" was the clear front-runner with over 41% of the vote. David E. Kelley obviously knows his stuff, because "The Practice" came in second with over 22% of the vote. "Law & Order" got around 17% of the vote, closely followed by NBC's new show, "Ed," with just under 15% of the vote, and CBS's "Family Law" trailed in last place with about 4% of the vote. What, no one wants to watch Tony Danza anymore? :)
This week's poll asks who is your favorite older star. There are some greats in this one, so choose carefully.
As always, the TKTV weekly poll can be found right on the front page of the site.

5. TV Trivia
Last week's question was: what Saturday Night Live actress guest-starred on Seinfeld as a woman whose arms don't swing when she walks?
First prize goes to Laura K. Congratulations!
Honorable mentions go to Jenny W. and Carrie L.
This was a hard one. The correct answer was Molly Shannon.
This week's question is: who performed a live musical performance at last Sunday's Oscars via satellite from Australia?
Send answers to TK at tk@tktv.net with the subject of tvtrivia. Winners will be chosen at random from all the correct answers.
